When I was a younger man, I didn’t seem to have a care in the world.
As she takes her last breath, she looks in your eyes
You hold back your tears, like you hold back your lies
You’ve wasted your life counting the days,
You’re losing your love in every single way
Take a minute to think back, To the way it used to be
Not a care in the world, We were kids on Lsd
We spend our free time escaping the truth
In that mellow haze the misguide youth
We’re not sixties generation, We are thirty years on
History always repeats itself, like the rising sun
As I get older the more distant I have become
I spend my days in exile, because got me on the run
Like a haggard ghost ship, alone I set sail
Heading for a better life, The postcards in the mail
Across the stormy waters, Towards the setting sun
I head for a distant land, With hope on the horizon
