September 29, 2011: This video which appeared on YouTube Sept.10, 2011 has become so popular that even its “knock-offs” have gone viral (3 so far). The one attached has over 1.2 million views.

It is a television ad for DnB NOR ASA. Originally established in 1822 as Christiania Sparebank, DnB NOR is now Norway’s largest financial services group with total combined assets of more than NOK 2.0 trillion and a market capitalization NOK 102 billion as per December the 31st.

The ad plays off of George Clooney’s worldwide reputation as one of the most eligible and committed bachelors and “every woman’s dream”. Waking up confused and alone in a hotel room, an apparent bride flips through pictures strewn on the desk and holds up her wedding dress. That’s when Clooney saunters into the room in pajamas. “I was letting you sleep,” he says. Then he shows his new wife pictures of real estate online.”I’ve been looking at places for us in Lillestrom,” he tells the speechless and bewildered newlywed, as he struggles with the pronunciation of the Norwegian city. Throughout, the bride’ facial expressions brings the ad to life.

Clooney is currently dating former WWE star Stacey Keibler.
