Mixed memories of a beach ride.

A children’s bare-backed beach ride,
Chained pavlovian response
Bells as carrots, sand dune saliva,
Eyes try to repress the spirited
Stubborn, pig-headed, strong-willed ass.
An equestrian equivalent
In strength to a tiny ant,
Four-legged snail, back-packed, mobile,
A home on its saddled back.
A real buckaroo kickass.
The skegnessian donkey-ass,
Humpless camels of nappied dunes,
Boats of the wind-breaked beaches.
Inland clippers, can strewn canals.
Original fur cyborgs, part ass part machine,
Ear-prickingly alert with a comic cry.
