A poem about an incident that happened long ago.
It was a cold night
I remember hearing her scream
She woke me and my sister up
God let this be a dream
My mother got a call
Saying my dad is at the bar
Him and some woman was just kissing in his car
My momma was fuming, boiling mad
She screamed and said tonight!
I gonna kill your dad!
My sister started crying
When they threw us in the car!
My Auntie was driving and we didn’t go far
They pulled into an alley on the side of the place
My moma had a bat and my Auntie had Mace
My mother then said, Kids sit still
Mommy has to talk with Daddy and Miss Jill
Miss Jill? the woman from across our street?
My Aunt said yeah, she gonna get that ass beat!
Into the bar the two of them ran
I guess you can say that’s when it hit the fan!
My momma seen Jill and before she could speak
It was a one punch knock out right off her feet
My dad turns around like whats going down?
That’s when my mom whacked him! With the bat to the ground!
He was crawling on the floor shouting somebody help!
That’s when my Auntie maced him and beat him with her belt!
One whip! two hits! three cracks, four
Dad was screaming like a woman till the cops came threw the door.
Now my momma went to jail for only one night
Charged with Simple Assault and starting a bar fight
And as I grew up I remember one thing
If you want to be a player then don’t buy a ring!!
