A poem about the beauty of letting go.
My feet are firmly planted on the dry desert ground
And it’s cracked and it’s broken
But there’s nothing around for miles and miles and miles
Torn tattered clothing hangs from my hips
And the pain of my feet is much less than my lips
This picture means nothing at all
I feel a slight breeze and it seems to remind me
Of a time when disaster left me alone
Then the winds they pick up
And they capture my stable
And all I was able to control while I was tied down
Softly holding on with what’s left of my shallow breathing
Emotions sweep me away much like the wind from that day
And my feet are losing what bolted them to the ground
