Often times people misunderstand the artist. Every song that is sung and every word in a book or poem, does come from that writer. But, you must remember, it comes from within that writer. Writers have the best imaginations and they are also inspired by their own lives, but you may never know which inspired that piece.
Don’t take it personal
I often just speak my mind
Often times my words are not really mine
I speak for those that have no voice
Or maybe those that have little choice
My encouraging words may help you rejoice
I may write just to prove a point
The words may flow while listening to my joint
Your energy may seek me out and I’ll reappoint
When my energy is high; my words just flow
Where do the words come from, I don’t know
But what is evident to me; my words help you grow
Don’t mistake me for battered and bruised
Take my words for face value, don’t get confused
I’m talented on my own, I am my own muse
My gifts are not mine to keep
It is too much to handle, so I don’t sleep
I spend my time just writing in one big heap
I beg the Gods above to make it perfect
My insecurities make me doubt if I got it correct
So I delete all my lines and call it a reject
I try to capture the essence of others
And feel the pain of my sisters and brothers
Just to write like no other
So, don’t take it personal
I often just speak my mind
Often times my words are not really mine
