DOODAH DAY
-Avleen Kaur Lamba
A jolly good person with a strange name
Doodah Day was purely insane.
He lived with his grandmother alone
And was born in Ravishing Rome.
He became my friend when we played ludo
He knew well and on Sunday taught me judo.
He played with rabbits, cats and dogs
Gave them milk, took them to the logs.
Doodah loved doodling, did it all day
While talking, studying, also at play.
He taught me to care for everyone
Play, smile and laugh a ton.
One day his grandmother died
Didn’t tell him she suffered from cancer, lied.
He cried all day, didn’t play ludo
Didn’t talk, laugh or taught me judo.
He didn’t play with dogs, cats or rabbits
And had changed all his previous habits.
Doodah didn’t doodle, any time of the day
He was really, really sad I must say.
My friend had changed, he realized
The day I stopped encouraging, he no more cried.
My friend Doodah was back again
Played, doodled, happiness regain.
