Words fail me.
Those blighted, dirty, actors
The Poor, the ugly, the dull,
typecast by fate, doomed to ever be broken,
under-fed, grimy, ill-loved, roles learned by rote.
Dazzled by the Bright, ignored by Narcissus necessarily,
Forgotten on Rememberance Day,
the unloved, the redundant, too big for their time,
they struggle while we work, they beg while we eat,
they shiver while we sleep, they share their emptiness with all who hear them.
The buttery, bloated, venial writers of Laws
planning our paths, seek the quick fix for their own glory.
deriding the dull and lost as they throw out the keys,
Just one quick watch at the wheel
I would have this ship of state in calm seas by morning.
