A short sonnet about a girl and her lover.

The little cottage so sweet

Welcomed visitors it’d meet

Her lover came in the door

Gave her sweets, flowers, and more

The opposite of lame

They took a walk; here they came

Down the lane

Her lover pops the question now

Getting on one knee; stooped in a bow

Her answer is firm; a sure, “Yes”

They go and pick a beautiful dress

The ceremony whirls by in a world of white

The couple wanders off for a mite

Down the lane
