This describes living with someone who lives in constant gloom.

Oh dark despondent being,
Who on our lives has cast no care.
Who cannot see the joy of living.
But must dwell on despair.
He who dictates to all around
And criticises every deed,
And never gives praise or shows kind face
To those who are so in need.
Must life forever be mundane,
And enveloped in unceasing gloom,
With never a chink of light to guide,
Or allow kind hearts to bloom.
What happened that were you born that way?
Or has the sun inside you died?
Can’t you now open your eyes and really see
All the beauty the world provides.
Then maybe your mind will awaken
An a new joy will lighten your way,
And the downtrodden souls about you
Will grow in confidence with each new day.
