A poem about dreams and nightmares and the mystery and terror they can bring.
Dreams
By Joshua Tchaou
Devils, angels, shouts and screams,
Tossing, turning, nightmares, dreams
You’re running, being chased
Free, but then you’re encased
Can’t control passing through your mind
Roaming hills, pastures, trying to find
What brought you here by such force?
It is a dream? Of course, of course
Then in a blink of an eye!
The scene you mostly espy
Disappears and you’re pulled!
Into a land of darkness, you’re lulled!
Creatures with eyes of red,
Ceaseless bellowing till fed,
Why’d you come to the land of dares?
The only answer is of nightmares!
Here in the land of the dead
Heathen creatures that brings tears to shed,
Some people act brave some others weep
But none knows that it is in their sleep
You run you screech
You’re within these creatures reach
What will happen…..? No one can tell
Of what fate you have befell
But at last you awake all sweaty and frightened
From the sunshine shining through, you’re enlightened
Last night’s mind quest forgot
Dress for school while the small memories rot
Then at the day’s end, down you lay
Closing eyes, wisp away
You then leave this world and search in mind’s space
Old ones gone, now a new race will-o-w
You enter the realm
But in what realm?
What brought you here by such force?
It is a dream? …… of course, of course
