I reach and I reach but she’s like the moon up above, the stars in the sky, I can reach all I want and never touch her. She was more than a dream, more than a girl, but she was never, ever, mine really.

If you were a dream, wherever I may lay
Into sleep I stay, and never dream of day
For never in the morning, or reality
I could dream the thought that you are destiny
Lover I can dream of kissing you today
Dreamers often wake a kiss from on the gray
I would love you angel together we would be
But I know you’re more than just a lover’s dream

If you were the girl that I could have next door
Everything I do, would mean a little more
For all the love I have and everything I do
You never need to ask I do it all for you
I would spend my days and each every night
To prove myself to you for you are worth the fight
Beauty you’re the girl and my heart did soar
But far away it is, because you’re not next door

If only in my life you could be my girl
I swear the life I know would be another world
To hold the one I love and have the love of you
I would never stray; to you I’m always true
If I won your heart, your beauty in my sight
To touch you like no other, from stars to morning light
My love, my dearest one with you I’d have the world
More than dream or nearer and more than just a girl
