Imagine a world where you have lost the precious gift of sight, of ever seeing the face of your beloved again. Imagine what a blessing dreams become…..
My life, it is darkness.
I can’t see the light.
No sense of appearance.
My day’s just as night.
The joys I once knew
Of your beautiful face
I no longer partake
As my eyes sight evade.
But as I drift off,
As I so often do,
Time starts to creep
As sweet dreams I view.
My mind comes awake
As I drift off to sleep.
Though my eyes passed,
They’re alive in my dreams.
All I once knew
Before the knight fell
Comes back to me,
My wishes to fill.
If only a dream
Could somehow come true
I would manage to be with
And see you too.
But I know I cannot,
For my eyes chose to give.
So I see you not
As my life I live.
Yet still I have dreams,
And in them have you
Which, without the darkness
Would be less of a view.
