A poem about the liberal media.
Rush Limbaugh called them drive-bys,
Talking of the liberal press.
But now, the state-run media,
For the blatant politics they profess.
Rush cleverly has coined these terms,
And with him I agree.
Let me tell you why I do that –
So all the world can see.
When discussing who they favor,
All the adjectives used are good.
But the party to the right of that,
With whatever words they could.
When the drive-bys talk of their side,
All the bad news isn’t bad.
Yet the Right’s facts that are happy,
Come off sounding pretty sad.
Too, the tones in all their voices,
Fill with glee in times of pain.
Because they have to prop the Left
And distract the voter’s brains.
Have you listened when the Right wins,
If the story’s facts uplift?
The state-run anchor sounds downcast,
Why not — with them it’s a gift!
There’s nannyism and uniform reporting,
And things I’ve yet to scratch.
So as the state-run drive-bys start their news,
I won’t listen and don’t watch.
