A poem about a recent long drive.

Driving through the night
You tell me to turn back
Laugh at my dedication
Question my reasoning
Try to break me with insults
But I don’t budge
I know I won’t make it
Will be stopped in the final hour
Still I drive
Because every mile is a promise
To you
To them
To our dream
To myself
And I can’t give up
And I know despite your behavior
You’ll eventually be grateful that I didn’t
Even if we never get our timing right
Knowing I came this far for you three
May one day allow you to no longer fight our happiness
