A thunderstorm saves a frustrated road from an earthquake.
Drizzles Drops…Drip drop flung off breathless clouds
when misty travelers wipe grey tired brows
sweaty fingers drip drip
Lick your thundery lips, chops dash
over pastures, valleys, drip drop
through snowy peaks still sweat
drip drop and huff-huff
Here’s a town a city a splat! on asphalt thick
Splat! brick clean
Sturdy cement so strong stoic river of stone
holds all the earth’s weight
in Step by Clip and Stumble or trot
He takes each tap in stride
It’s nothing anymore
Ticks from a clock A days work tick-tock
day in, out shoe step step step
tick-tock day in
A warm one creeps in that August sun too proud
Solid stone, stoic as ever bears out scorching summer
burning, boiling
grim and bear it
