The pull of the ocean…washed away by the sea.

I sometimes wonder,
what it would be like,
to stand on the wet, sandy shore,
as a giant wave washes over me,
taking me into its cool embrace,
drowning me in its love,
washing away my sorrows,
my human sins.

Would I become immortal?

Would I be at peace?

Would I find happiness at long last?

I have become so weary of this life,
tired of fighting,
tired of crying.

I long for serenity.

I long for tranquility.

The ocean calls to me,
like a long lost lover,
waiting for me to return.

So I take that step,
and walk into the sea…
