Young people are turning to drug abuse,
Nothing more than a desire for something,
Unaware of the danger and health risks,
Just to run away from their life’s problems
That they feel they can’t face and cope with.

Temptation is great which young ones can’t avoid,
If they go with others who are wayward,
It is like a kind of disease, a contagious one,
For curiosity, they will try shabu and hashish,
And they will fall into addiction and drug abuse.

“There is no hope in dope,” they say,
Where drug users end behind bars,
They committed crimes against their will,
For which they repented, but it was too late,
Yes! The truth hurst and is hard to accept.

Everybody must be aware and fight drug abuse,
It outlines matters of concern and responsibility,
The school, church, parents, teachers, and community,
Work hand in hand through intensive campaign,
Jail the drug pushers as well as the users!

End result is certain – a happy family life,
The sharing of love, building trust and respect,
Parents should spare time for their children,
Always ready to lend their helping hands,
During the time of desperation and in need.

Calling all the different sectors of society,
Set good examples; you should be the role models,
Let us not neglect our duty and accountability,
To the young children who are the hope and backbone
