Wrote this as song lyrics, back in the 80’s. Pick up your guitar and put a tune to it.

Oh love like the ocean–deep–my love

So far–so far and wide

Waves fall on your empty beach

Forever the other side

         ***

When yesterday passes on

To be gone

You be my lighthouse in the storm

When lost in darkness

You be my dawn

And when I’m not knowing where I’m going

You be my trade wind

My trade wind blowing

And when I need a guiding  hand

You be dry land

When those waves crash on the rolling sea

Be the lifeboat to rescue me

And when all fails let there still be you

To guide—to guide and steer me through

           ***

Oh love like the ocean–deep–my love

Still I’m drowning–going down

Only finding still water

While trying to run aground

            ***

This is ONE of THE most beautiful* poems I’ve read in AWHILE……….. (I actually sat up in my chair and sighed* between each verse)

It’s reminiscent of the powerful emotions Shakespearian works stirs in my heart – - unbridled passion…… pouring from your heart……………

You have an exceptional, one of a kind gift*

    Blessings.

    Sincerely,

    -Liane Schmidt.

I am not into music, but the words are beautiful, and I am sure they would be perfect in a song.

Well, well… Mr Romantic! this was very sweet and you painted a very pretty and clear picture! Lovely, I wish I could strum along but I\’m afraid my kind of strumming would not do these lyrics any deserved justice! x
