The author imagines a beautiful death.

She looks at the horizon,

blue-violet against the sun.

Fading into the open sea,

calm as her breath.

 *

A sudden pain in her chest,

her heart beats fast.

Fear grips her down.

But, wanes with her moan.

 *

She remembers laughter,

beautiful memories.

She remembers life trials.

How she conquered them all!

 *

She remembers love,

all she took and gave.

She remembers nothing more,

no ill feelings within her.

 *

She smiles and stares,

beyond the fading light,

past the emerging stars.

Finally, she’s at peace.

Thank you for your kind words, friends. My critique told me that it was also nice, but he didn’t approve with the topic of death. Well, we are going there someday.

I couldn’t resist writing about it. I always love the sunset. The lovely colors of the sky while the sun is setting down. Its very lonely too, because after that is darkness and coldness.
    Its like dying… for me.

Anyway death is frightening. Anyone who would say that he is not afraid to die is lying to himself. But, I was thinking if we have enjoyed life and we have no more worries or bitterness in our hearts, then dying wouldn’t be that bad.

And for all your concerns, I have no health problems lol…
But if you notice that I haven’t been writing for a whole month. Then this is good bye.

Thank you for checking out my poem.

    Mae

beautiful and touching… how we are going to die is what is scary… death itself is actually the beginning of eternal life.
    Take care, Connie

Very good Abad. With this free verse you have captured a moment very well. Keep up the good work.

I’d like to remind you, though, that using capital letters at the beginning of each line was a practice that began back before the Rennaisance because of typeface issues. So, don’t forget to reapply your English language laws. ;)

Take care and keep up the good work.

Wow, thank you for the reminder Henry, sir. I was being lazy. Thank you friends for all your support.

A very touching vision. That moment of extreme peace and utter loneliness should be without fear. I suppose nobody gets to the other side with a companion and it is a moment where one’s freedom of choice is not applicable (unless you opted to end it your way). A splendid work, Mae.
