John and I met via a mutual friend. Our first encounter was via internet. So pretty much I’ve done the “mail-order bride” thing. This poem was my introduction. (My parents are on the other side of vale now).
This is a test to see if this went through
and if it did or does
tell me a little about you
I write poems
I work as an aide
I like what I do
and not just to get paid
I live with my parents
who are up there in years
and doing quite well
though we have had some tears
I have two children who are grown
and on their own
they’re light shines brightly
and I miss them (moan)
I believe in the church and go when I can
but it’s not easy when
we end up short a “man”
sometimes I work long hours
and days off are rare
but I like to dance and go to movies
don’t like the one’s that scare.
