From the time I can first remember. From a very early age, six or seven. This uneasy feeling of impermanence…

Its haunted me

All my life

From the time

I can first remember

From a very early age

Six or seven

This uneasy feeling

of impermanence

Nothing lasts forever

This is true

But a child

Of that tender age

Should never have death

on his mind or even

the remote possibility

that things as they are now

Won’t always be

It crushes the spirit

Rips and tears at the soul

The feeling that this life

Is not your own

Can be taken from you

At any time… Without warning

No apparent signs
