I wrote this one a few mornings ago.

Early morning soon

Awake I am now

Roosters crowing

Light in the sky

Yawning and sleepy

Morning is very near

Outside almost dawn

Red hues in the sky

Needing more sleep

I’m still feeling tired

Not ready to get up

Going to nap awhile

Snoring here in bed

Out like a light again

Outside roosters crow

Nap time is now over

Durn roosters…no snooze button on ‘em. That last 10 minutes sometimes seems like the best.

Roosters are indeed accurate alarm clocks for the morning.

a lovely poem. i find the best sleep is actually in the very early morning, just when you have to get up. if only one were allowed to sleep that little bit extra. you can hear all the sounds and are aware of everyhing, but so relaxed u don’t want to get up. STUPENDOUS POEM!!
