Earth day or Environment

Earth day or Environment day starts with the sun entering the Zodiac sign of Taurus, the Bull, on 21st April each year, which belongs to the Trinity of the Earth triangle in the Zodiac system of astrology. It has all to do about the stillness, slowness and sluggish movement of the earth, as the weight of the earth is increasing on a gradual basis. Environmental activities to include minimising of pollution man made or otherwise, become all the more important. It’s important to preserve the earth and also to help it move in its transition, from winter to spring, so that the period of hibernation for animals and insects is over and agriculture and tilling of the earth commences to rejuvenate it. Thus the Earth day or environment day attains all the more significance.

Many beautiful flowers spring up and plants and fruits commence to germinate and bring forth colour to the surroundings. In Canada  as well as in the USA, one observes that such large amounts of useful items, like  full  unbroken glasses and mirrors, new or partly worn out furniture, slightly damaged or even fresh looking doors, windows etc are being just simply shattered into a garbage van and  are clustered away to be taken into some landfill somewhere.

If such carpets, glasses and many useful articles are sent to a Reclamation Factory, to be manned from within the jobless labour class. It is for certain that one would find suitable jobs for the skilled though jobless kind of workers, and also recycle and reuse useful items worth its cost in gold, particularly bedding’s, clothing and furniture, which are simply being disposed off as garbage.

Someone in the   management and higher hierarchy should apply one’s mind and convert this into useful garbage –recycling, exercise in a scientific way. There is bound to be undoubtedly a great saving and some poorer cross section of people, can buy such recycled goods from preselected places and the financial returns could be perhaps used for the betterment of Salvation armies, welfare of the needy and so on. There  is bound to be a colossal saving and poorer people, as compared to their peers in Canada and USA, may be able to utilise these items which other wise are being treated as scrap and perhaps causing more pollution as well. This is just a food for thought and the city management should apply the recycling process more diligently and extend it beyond the recycling of newspapers only.

Brilliant article, I do believe recycling is getting better each year, we still waste a hell of a lot but were getting there, You cant leave recycling to the governments to sort all they care about is money. The first moves will have to come from the concerned public. LB
