When asked, can we start to say we are citizen of the Earth first, before the nationality? It is just a whimsical idea… We can still retain our identity, national civic, religious, political an so forth.

Can we be citizen of the World first?

Still citizen of nation and state,

Still citizen of kingdoms great,

But while with flavor local

Looking at the globe focal.

Can we be part of the whole

Not chomping our bit into a hole.

You pose a very good question. Many of us find it hard to focus on the things that unite us rarher than on our narrow national and regional differences.
