Christian poem written on Easter.
Years and years and years ago
God had a plan and let no one know
He sacrificed his son in place of our sin
So that heavens gates we may enter in
His son was humiliated and brutally whipped
While on the cross, old wine he sipped
He tried his best to cure us of evil
Though to be kind to one another was not their will
Then, on that sad sad day, Jesus let out a sigh
His head fell limp, family began to cry
The king hid his body and blocked the way
Guards stood outside night and day
Three days later his body went missing
It was thought to be stolen by the guards and the king
A stranger approached a woman and soothed her pain
She looked at his face and recalled his name
Jesus, the son has risen from his cold dark slumber
A mighty king born from a mortal mother
High up in the clouds he is watching us show our love in many a way
As we celebrate his grace on this beautiful Easter Day
