Has had writers block lately and it frustrated me big time so I put in my dvd Excalibur. As the famed battle between Arthur and Mordred played,my pen and paper was by me and I finally wrote.Might not be my best work but writers block is gone for the moment.

Camelot reigned supreme in the dark age period,

it was ruled by a royal couple of legendary status.

The grand sword Excalibur played a major part also,

no sword known to man could beat this lethal blade.

King Arthur ruled along side his beautiful Guinevere,

the wise king and his legendary queen was well loved.

Both had hoped to create a much needed heir as well,

but legend says a curse On Guinevere stopped all that.

Merlin the magician was King Arthur’s castle council,

his look into the future helped the king rule wisely.

But Merlin saw both side of the future in doing this,

King Arthur was told the good as well as the bad.

Enter Sir Lancelot and his search for the holy grail,

Arthur’s greatest warrior and won King Aurthur battles.

But he was deep in love with the Queen Guinevere,

their love affair helped create the dismay that followed.

Morgan Le Fay is King Arthur’s sister legend tells us all,

she was an apprentice under Merlin to learn magical skills.

But Morgan LeFay used the magic to wrongly seduce Arthur,

the birth of their son Mordred was the undoing of Camelot.

.

A final battle would end a feud between a father and son,

on the battlefield both would face the other to the death.

Arthur killed Mordred and Mordred  wounding King Arthur,

unfortunately for the legendary king the wound is a fatal one.

.

Thus ends a magical time in a period that much isn’t known,

all the people in it have become a part of our long history.

Movie after movie has been made about this over the years,

scholars have debated Camelots actual existence for years.

But in reality what do we really know about Camelot or its legend?

We can only speculate and believe what we want to about it all.

There are those who can correct us all and set the record straight,

but you cannot go back to Camelot to ask them what it might be.

.

So the legend of King Arthur and his famous round table remains,

his beloved queen,Lancelot and their lust is forever immortalized.

The famed castle Camelot will stand tall as long as the tale is told,

its romance ,intrigue, betrayal, love and deception will never die.
