EEFLUMP-PART TWO

Eeflump the elephant was bored with her job,

Thinking her circus act was far too small,

She wanted a bigger part in the show -

Fed up with just balancing on a ball.

Time was ticking, it was 2 o’clock,

The ringmaster let out a sigh,

“Eeflump, we’ve only 5 hours to go

Until tonight’s show,

What act would you like to try?”

“Lions!” screamed Eeflump.

“An elephant lion-tamer is what you need,

I can make them do tricks and each one I could feed.

That’s what I want to do.”

Eeflump looked marvellous as she stood with them in their cage,

But suddenly, one of them let out a roar

And Eeflump got scared, she ran out the cage door.

The ringmaster took one look at his watch,

It was 3 o’clock – he let out a sigh,

“Eeflump, we’ve only 4 hours to go

Until tonight’s show,

What act would you like to try?”

“Trapeze artist!” screamed Eeflump.

“An elephant swinging up high on the trapeze,

I promise I’ll do it with the greatest of ease,

That’s what I want to do.”

Eeflump looked splendid, swinging high above,

But when the other trapeze artist wanted her to jump

She completely missed and fell straight down with a bump.

Time was ticking, it was 4 o’clock,

The ringmaster let out a sigh,

“Eeflump, we’ve only 3 hours to go

Until tonight’s show,

What act would you like to try?”

“Juggler!” screamed Eeflump.

“An elephant who can juggle 10 balls at once,

I know I won’t look like a dunce,

That’s what I want to do.”

Eeflump looked dazzling, throwing the balls as high as she could,

But she tried to catch them with her arms too widespread

And each of the balls cracked Eeflump on her head.

The ringmaster took one look at his watch,

It was 5 o’clock – he let out a sigh,

“Eeflump, we’ve only 2 hours to go

Until tonight’s show,

What act would you like to try?”

“Unicycle!” screamed Eeflump.

“An elephant riding a unicycle round and round

Will have people laughing and falling to the ground,

That’s what I want to do.”

Eeflump looked extraordinary as she sat on the seat,

She went side to side then forward and back,

But she lost control with her big feet and fell with a thwack.

Time was ticking, it was 6 o’clock,

The ringmaster let out a sigh,

“Eeflump, we’ve only 1 hour to go

Until tonight’s show,

What act would you like to try?”

“No more acts,” cried Eeflump,

“I’m not very good, I’m too big and fat.”

But then she knew what to do, “Give me your hat!”

She grabbed his hat and put it on her head,

“I have it!” she shouted. “I’ll do this instead.

Give me your clothes; I’ll do what you do,

I want to be the ringmaster – YAHOO!”

“You won’t do my job!” he screamed. “I’ll pick your act,

Do as you’re told!”

But Eeflump jumped on him and stripped him down,

She left him naked and cold.

It was 7 o’clock

And the show went on.

The ringmaster did nothing and Eeflump took the lead,

Was the show a success that night?

It was indeed!
