A poem I wrote March 30th.
Hope you like!
“AHAHA!”
And it was screaming
Screaming at me
“MOVE WEST!”
And I feel it going down.
It burns nice.
“LEAVE NOW!”
Pioneers once moved out West for gold.
For God
For land
For love
For a better life.
Working just to live
Money runs like blood through my skin
It becomes thick like blood
Necessary like water
Fuel like bread.
And God, do I want to listen!
I just want to fucking listen.
“FUCKING LEAVE NOW.”
Take me to the promise land!
Because that’s how the world began
And that’s how the world will end.
When will I finally make my journey?
Will something here have me stay?
Perhaps staying is fine,
Not for reasons.
Reasons are cheap and easy.
Truth, loyalty
Compassion
But not that love, No, not the love I’ve known.
Not that deep twisting love that pains me.
But lighthearted flutters that keep me utterly on my toes.
And what do you do when your best friend moves away?
Is this a journey I shall make alone?
Let’s stick to the facts for now;
Because, my dear,
ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD.
