She fell without sound.
Elizabeth wanted much
Wanted much
But life treated her as such
It battered her
It splattered her
It ground
She fell without sound
She nearly didn’t get back up.
Elizabeth wanted less
She still wanted much, but less
Life had battered her, things were a mess
She cleaned up
She teamed up
She led
She sped
She emotionally bled
And it ended, almost without trace.
Elizabeth wanted nil
Wanted absolutely nil
If life were a choice of tablet, she’d swallowed the wrong pill
She wore a frown
She looked down
Nothing left?
Took a breath
And started the long march back…
Elizabeth wanted more
Wanted more
Is life a tedious chore?
Is self defence just experience?
Take it all
Stand tall
Elizabeth wanted more
Elizabeth wanted much
Wanted much
But life treated her as such
It battered her
It splattered her
It ground
But within she had found
She could sensibly manage this time around.
