…and chivalrous evenings.

The sincerest
Pondering, of sorts
And curious puzzlements
As to happenstances
And, the ticking
Of Grandfather clocks
Ticking and tocking
Deep into the passing
Of slumbering nights

A wonderment
Of sorts
As China patterns
Touch and clink
A symphony
Of pleasantries
The harmony
Of chivalrous nods
And ladylike curtsies

The evening dips
In eloquent delight
Oh what a sight
Oh what a splendid
Splendid, night!

Exquisite. Wonderful wording, I especially liked ‘A somphony/ Of pleasantries.’ You created such a sense of the surroundings. I don’t know what inspired this, but it was calming like a slow afternoon but it was as if there was excitement rippling below the surface.
