Acrostic poem.

End of Summer Break is drawing near,

No more sleeping late each morning,

Days of freedom almost at an end.

Out of school since early in June,

Family vacations we have enjoyed.

Summer months go by so quickly,

Unbelievable how fast time passes.

Many days of fun-filled adventures,

Memories that will last for a lifetime.

Each day something new to enjoy,

Rejoicing in the season of Summer.

Back to school the children must go,

Returning to the crowded classrooms.

Each day sitting at their wooden desks,

And paying attention to the teachers.

Knowledge leads to success in life.

Isn’t it a shame though that the long breaks of summer are reserved solely for the children? I wish I could get more than 2 weeks LOL Excellent read. Michael

OH no! I don’t want my holidays to get over! For two reasons, I get my results soon which is like the end of the world and next, I will have to be back at school. Thanks a lot for reminding me Darla(!)
But still (unpleasant for a student but) a good poem with a good message behind it that knowledge has to be there at some point.
This poem though, does make me wish I was retired at 17. Wouldn’t that be great?

very well written Darla, as a kid I always hated the summer to end, I had a friend who loved school and loved when summer ended, As a Mother I couldn’t wait for the summers end so the kids were back in school. as a grand mother I just smile when i hear my kids talking about how they can’t wait till school is back in, and your poem made me smile with the memories thank you :)
