Let’s put a nail in the coffin

Of the oil age

That’s drawing blood

From us

- – -

It’s either Americans

Have the will to do so

Or the oil producing nations

Like Saudi Arabia, Iraq

And Venezuela

Will continue to drive up

Costs in our land

It’s not only the price 

Of such fuel that’s expensive

It’s also what we pay

For our goods and services

Each time the price of oil

Rises at the gas pump

- – -

Many vehicles using

This fuel

Pollute our environment

And in some cities

Like Los Angeles

Its so bad that there’s 

Pollution

That causes respiratory diseases

- – -

American officials

Will save us billions

Each year 

After they put in place

New forms of energy

To power our engines

Like electricity and batteries

- – -

If America can put a man

On the moon

And win the space race

She can surely solve

Our energy problems
