A glorification of the old steam engine locomotive. Written to capture the power of the train and what it must feel like to engineer it around the bend and down the line.

Get on board everybody, ride that train again.
Get on board everybody, watch that iron spin.
Get on board, roll on down the line,
Engine #7, she’s right on time.

Well, Engine #7 is a rollin wheel.
Has a locomotive chamber and a ton of steel.
Moves like lightning thru a clouded night.
First time I saw her, I died of fright.
Big ol’ freighters and long flat cars,
oil tankers and coal cars.
An old steam engine and a click-i-ty clack,
Ride her once and you don’t ride back.

She rocks her freighters with sheer delight
Holds that baggage and packs ‘em tight,
Blows her whistle with a high shrill tone (wooo, wooo)
When I heard her comin I was all alone.
Around the bend she rolls along,
The iron is holdin and the tracks are strong.
Behind the wheel I drive that seven,
Ride with me cause were goin to heaven!

Down the turn pike she’ll rock–n-roll
Thru the forest she’ll steal your soul.
Old Man River come by our side,
But in engine seven, there’s a place to hide.
Chattanooga choo-choo can come at us,
Casey’s steam engine is makin’ a bust.
A circus train waits for you and me,
But engine seven its gonna be.

Get on board everybody, ride that train again.
Engine # 7, she’s comin in….Chhhhhwww!
