Never fall in love with a photo.
I stare into the picture
You stare back at me,
The sight of you, locked in your photographic prison,
It stirs so much in me,
Rattles me to my core,
And you stare back and feel nothing.
Go about my day, feeling great,
On top, and not a care in the world.
I see that photograph and am reminded,
Of your absence, and am saddened,
And you stare from the photograph, feeling nothing
How unnatural this is,
This deep seated affection I have for you,
It makes me question weather I love is,
You, or that captured memory of you,
And you offer no answers from the photographs.
All that’s left is a singed photo,
I realize the error of my thoughts.
For man can’t love a memory,
For to want you, I must know you,
For I get only silence from photographs.
