A plot summary of Eragon by Christopher Paolini.
There was once a boy named Eragon
Who went hunting a fawn.
He found a stone
And took it home at dawn.
The stone hatched
And out came a dragon.
It was sapphire blue
It was smaller than a flagon.
He goes to the storyteller Brom
And asks him about dragon lore.
He hears the name Saphira
And Brom tells him they are no more.
Eragon’s uncle was in the house
When the Ra’zac burned it down.
He later died
And Eragon went on with a frown.
Brom Gives Eraogn Zar’roc
One he had hidden away.
Eragon was to train with it
And take it into the fray.
Brom will go with him
To make a story of his fight.
He trains him well
And the two show their might.
In a trap Eragon runs
Yet his foes pursue him.
He uses magic.
He learns to do it on a whim.
A tragic thing
Brom’s dying.
Murtagh joins Eragon
He say’s he’ll help but is he lying?
Eragon is captured
Murtagh breaks him out.
They rescue an elf
And defeat a lout.
With her help
They look for the Varden.
They find the way in
They are given a pardon.
A battle ensues
Their lives are in peril.
They fight innumerable foes
At last they make the place sterile.
