This is a poem about friends now strangers…
Once the from dawn to dusk and to the advent
Of the soot smudged hours of the diamond studded night
We wers together basking in the glow of companionship
You knew my moods through and through
And I could read your expressions ene when veiled like a book
You loved me as I was moles and scars and blemishes
And I accepted you with all your faults in my heart
Though crib I would endlessly about the slightest mistake
And you would we ready with wittiest of retorts
We were there for each other, a calming hand
When the volcano of insane fury burst into lava of abuse
And a comfortingly warm shoulder to cosily lean on
On a cold frosty morn veiled by gossamer mist
With selfless love we helped each other in need
It was the strongest bond emotions could breed
But as the tide of Time changed its course
And the paths of our lives diverged in aeparate directions
Our lives no longer entwined by togetherness
We tried against Time’s dictates to keep alow the flame of love
But as communication lagged with new preoccupations
We lost touch in the crowd of miling hunanity, a sea of faces
And now you are no longer my alter ego, my shadow
Your memory is a distant dream, you face faintly remembered
But blurred by the fog of passing moments condensing on mind,s canvas
And You are to me a stranger vaguely familiar
Though memories of the shared past are still guilded…
