Can there be a tragedy greater,
Than to die from a broken heart.
Can there be a tragedy greater,
Than to die from a broken heart.
To feel yourself waste away,
Never having had a chance from the start.

To have found the one you thought you loved,
But you let her slip away.
Wondering will she look upon you,
Again some fine spring day.

Will I die with a broken heart,
Or will I just die from one that’s broken.
Either way doesn’t matter that much,
The same words will then be spoken.

On the ground around my tomb,
I hope the flowers will be a bloom.
One last time I’ll see your name,
Etched in stone this lovers lane.
