I hate goodbye’s but this word is commonly part of everyone else’s life. When I have to say it forever, I will make sure the things that had been done will be remembered.

Behind the aged face of my Father
are memories of family and friends so dear
His caloused hands and wrinkled feet
are symbols of hardwork we ought to keep

Through his beautiful eyes who are now blurred
reflects promises of love which sometimes never told
His weak heart can no longer stand a yard of walk
but he will never surrender by giving us a good talk

I sometimes caught him having tears in his eyes
and I had never stop asking him to answer me why
He said he had great years living his life
and wanted to give his last breath when its time

One day I sat with him and hold his hand
He said he wanted to go home so he can lie down
I helped him sat in his old hard bed
and propped-up a pillow to support his head

He sincerely ask me if I wanted to go
and face my daily task but I said “no”
i’ll stay with you Father and wont let you go
” no child” he said ” you have to

He lend to me closer and whisper something
in my ear it sounds like a peaceful rain
I can barely hear his labor of breathing
because in my eyes tears are flowing like stream

Soft wind is blowing lightly on my face
at his burial moment I really miss his embrace
But I love you Father and with all God’s grace
we commend your spirit to “HIM” so you may rest in peace.
