The speed of light.

Event Horizons taste of Jasmine tea,
the origin of all I see
and all my precious seekers will,
and all my loving still
is all too bright, the seas too deep to fill
and so I give
to fathom all that is
and so I walk and so I bow to ground
perpetual and whispered crowns
there bound to peace and love.
And as I walk the mile to the moon
I point to Heaven’s gate and know
the now, the soon,
the bride and groom
the orchestra and now the tune.

    Getting married soon, sir?

LOL! Only in my dreams. First I need to deserve to be called “sir”.

Very moving. Well written. You deserve to be called “sir”.

    Thank You

This has a very ’spacial’ feel to it. You do a good job in presenting your imagery. Did you ever see the movie of the same name? “Event Horizon”?

  • Michael Stonecipher on Feb 4, 2009

Mine is the antithesis of the former. “Event Horizon” was a film about inescapable darkness, this poem is about inescapable Love.
