The power of free-will. The acceptance of another’s free-will and finally moving on with life.

I can draw pictures

that people stera at for hours,

and I can write poems

that make people feel,

remember or cry;

I can do things

people tell me are

impossible,

and do them with style—

but I can’t

for the life of me

make you

ever love me.

I can dance

when there’s no music

and I can

get what I need

without lots of money.

I can find a way

whenever I feel lost;

or give the only advice

that’ll brighten someone’s day—

but I can’t

for the life of me

make you

ever love me.

I can pray for food,

money or clothing

and I can beg God

for anything under the sun,

to find it suddenly

at my fingertips;

but my prayers never make it past

your own freewill

and I can’t

for the life of me

make you

ever love me.

I can touch people’s hearts

by sharing myself honestly

andI can be trusted

when the chips are down.

I can make people angry,

enraged, sensitive

or hopeful—-

I can make them smile,

snicker, laugh

or sry—-

but I can’t

for the life of me

for all the love in me

make you

ever-love

me…..

    This is so true…you just can’t make someone else feel any emotion just because you wish for it. We can only change ourselves–not others.
