My heart could be lost in sorrow again
But I have a Father, a God above all
Who loves me so dearly
That He continues to send me His call
It answers all of my troubles
And it gives me peace within

I hear His voice in every line
And my heart reaches out to Him
Who gave His all, His very best
To show me His perfect way
I hear the sweetest melody
He will lead through every test

Can I tell where I have been,
The great places I have seen?
The journey and all of the tears
Fallen on the trodden path so dear

The ache and pain of my soul
Many think it would take its toll
But moments glide beautifully on
And I find that God is never wrong!

I have seen the way so clear
It has taken away my sense of fear
Now I see the One, who for me
Died, just to set me free

Yet I choose this trodden path
As world-lings look on with wrath

But I find in all of my heart breaks
Someone who understands those aches
He knows they are for Him
I care for those whose eyes are dim

And so it may seem I have nothing
But I find joy, simply in loving
In following my Saviour each step
Trembling perhaps, but ready yet
Knowing He will keep, for He has kept
