Islamic, Religious Poetry.

My eyes were opened for me

And I came to realize

that everything that shines is not gold

Thankfully,

I’ve regained myself in time enough to discover my dreams;

To seek to fulfill my purpose

And what God wills for me

And although every step is tentative

Almost cautious in my hesitancy

I believe

And although my faith may still be newborn

It is strong

It is anchored in the Grace and Truth that is God

So I try to be as gentle as a dove in all my doings

Yet as wise as a viper, for my own sake

For the sake of my son

So that this world does not deceive us and leave us traumatized in its wake

And in spite of how exhausting the effort

I push on

As Sojourner

Gifted as I am with this:

my life

I

Persevere

And do my very best to make Him pleased with me

So that when I return to Him

As we all shall return to Him

I may not be ashamed
