I sat there drinking coffee, stared into the swirls of brown and whites…
the donut was stale..i wrote you a note on a napkin that had a coffee stain on the corner..i missed you..
it’s funny how we are in and out of our phase of detailed letters and long conversations over the phone..though, silence and distance has it’s way of binding us still..
i often wonder how you are..and true enough our paths are parallel as we travel on a winding road..yet never are we moved..never are we shaken..we always had a way of adapting to circumstances.. immune were we to it’s cause..we always had a sense of something more..
with teeth marks all around my coffee cup..i left it there half empty..and slid the note under the donut..knowing deeply you’d never read it..though nothing is changed..altered..nor lost…it’s like you were there..still comfortable..still familure..still you and me…
just wish you were really there to pick up the tab…*wink*
