With expectation, life would have been monotonous. We hope for the best and look forward to their fulfillment.

Expectation
What does it take to turn on a light bulb? A mechanism like a switch against a wall;
What kindles the spirit that starts manifesting?
Expectation of something deemed worthy, that’s all.
What makes a pregnant mother delighted? Signs that she would in good time deliver;
A medical scientist close to a cure
To a malady that should be banished forever.
What does a messianic ideology do for those assured of his coming some time?
It directs the spirit of prophecy to
Enable and keep expectation sublime.
A poet, a painter, a music composer; a preacher, a teacher, a trader, and more –
All anchor their efforts to what they expect
By which all things considered grow.
Oh, think what life would’ve been without expectation in every good field of endeavor;
The will to survive might have disintegrated
And civilization vanished forever.
