A woman whose mask is finally penetrated.

Her facade once strong
Had grown weak with time
Vulnerable as an egg’s shell
Or an old New York sidewalk

With the mere touch of
His hand on her cheek
He cracked it today
Smiled as all her defenses leaked out

As pain leaked free
And pooled at her feet
She touched her breast
To feel her heart begin again to beat

Good poem. You expressed your deep feelings vividly. Well done.
