A poem about looking a little deeper into pictures and random awareness…
Image via Wikipedia
As I look at my vacation photos,
I see unfamiliar faces in the background,
And I think…what about the figures
Who innocently exist outside the nucleus?
Captured there for eternity,
Images unaware of their destiny.
I find them interesting, maybe more
So than the object of my photographer,
And I look a little closer.
They are people I will never know….
With voices I will never hear,
Yet they dwell in my still memory,
And are fixed upon my pages,
Like shadows on a sunlit day,
Without the essential detail or impact
Of the intended source.
Today the shadows intrigue me,
And my senses randomly awaken
As I ponder this for a moment,
An unlikely revelation of awareness
Projected by the many Faces in the Background….
