I originally published this on DA, but had to rewrite parts of it.
I watch my life
Fade slowly to black
As I lie on the concrete
The glow in my eyes
Fades with my voice
As the scream on my tongue
Disappears in the red cloud
Of blood that flies from my lips
As the rain falls down
I lie here bleeding out my life
Watching people pass me by
I realize
That maybe I should have taken
A better path in life
Then the one I led
Because it took me here
Where the simple fact
That I wear a jacket
Emblazoned with one word
Led to me being stabbed
While the hatred the knife felt
Was only to the word on the jacket
Never to me
