As people we love leave this earth, what we remember most is their smile, their laughter, their kindness, the mirth in their eyes, their faces.

Lost faces in time
will never again laugh
or worry about how bad
things are; how good
it could have been.

If only Time was kind
to us then growing old
would be such a tickle
and the lost faces
would then be found,
smiling in the shade.

Ripped away from us all
just when our love deeply
found pleasing places
in the sparkling corners
of those familiar faces.
