A little poem about faerie fashion.

A dress made with leaves is for everyday wear,

but for every day, these dresses are rare,

for the faeries that wear them keep hidden.

You may not see them, but I know they are there.

Greens, browns, reds, and ambers. Quite impressive,

are the colours of Autumn sewn up into dresses,

and slippers for their feet.

and for their hair, well, they wear ribbons of grass in their tresses.

Now for those special occasions that do occur,

a leaf, although pretty, does not cause a stir.

So petals and silk, of the finest around,

are cut and seamed to make the most perfect of gowns.

While the silk worms make silk and faeries pluck petals,

the spiders weave webs into items so special;

ribbons and sashes and elegant gloves,

headpieces weaved with symbols of love.

And all a web needs to sparkle and shine,

as if filled with diamonds and stones from the  Rhine,

are fresh drops of dew that each morning brings,

as they shimmer so bright in the sun and moon beams.
